Spoken Words from Our Pastor's Heart
OUR PASTOR
Before we were formed in our mother’s womb, God knew us, and placed within each one of us the gift of ministry. These gifts, talents, assignments and/or passions many times lay dormant, waiting to be activated for the Master’s use.
There is a story behind the calling of our newly elected shepherd. Cynthia Perkins, is the pastor of the New Covenant Sabbath Apostolic Church, located at 2129 Ford Avenue, in the heart of the city of Richmond, Virginia. Pastor Perkins, the daughter of her proud parents, (father deceased) Philip E. Robinson and mother, Virginia Robinson, is a graduate of the former Maggie L. Walker High School and Virginia Commonwealth University. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Criminal Justice. Pastor is married to her God-ordained mate, Deacon Michael Perkins. God has blessed this spiritual union with four birth children, Angel, Michael L., Justin and Jeremy; two daughters by marriage, Taylor, and Farida and five beautiful grandchildren who are her heart, Leah, Mila, Tatum, Mason, and Layla.
Minister C. Perkins was elected as pastor on October 29, 2017, after assisting the former pastor, Bishop Willie G. Suggs for over 30+ years. She states, “This was an amazing move of God. I know now, God was grooming me for such a time as this. Really, the call to pastor never crossed my mind, my one and only desire was to be a blessing to the Body of Christ. My spiritual journey reminds me of King David in the Bible. Just as David was out in the fields tending sheep, not even being considered as king, so it was with me. I was just working, whatever my hands found to do, I did it with all my might, being about my heavenly Father’s business, and God saw my heart.”
Under this new administration and season, God has shown Himself faithful by adding to the church such as should be saved, and calling souls to re-dedicate their lives to Him. Through vision, we are expanding ministries; TEAM Y.E.S. (yielding excellent service) for the Master, teens, young adults, men, women, couples and singles; a resource officer, Men of Council Board, the WE CARE Mother’s Board and a dynamic music/media ministry. These are just a few, but they all are working with a clear vision to bring people Into a RELATIONSHIP with their Heavenly Father to develop them into Christ-like maturity, equipped to reach out and share the Good News of the gospel, all while magnifying and glorying God!”
